Organic Consumers Stay True
Despite the economy, numbers show that the organic food and drink industry has remained strong. Nearly 40% of those surveyed by the market research company, Mintel, admit to maintaining their organic product purchases.
A mere 3% of previous organic food buyers reverted back to a non-organic way of life. With only a slight recession dip in sales, Mintel projects that the entire organic food and drink industry should bounce back completely by 2012.
An improved food labeling system would also contribute to the overall trust of organic food and drink ingredients, increasing sales even more.
