Walmart's 2010 Savings Plan
Get ready for a big Walmart move this year. The Financial TImes has reported that Walmart plans to buy factory direct at higher rate than ever before. The retailer currently purchases about 20% of goods on a merchandise-direct and country to country basis. This year, the merchandising giant has projected to reach a goal of 80% stock-direct purchases.
The 2010 year has marked the supply chain's time to expand fresh fruit and vegetable purchases to include a global factory-direct market. Savings are expected to reach an estimated 5 to 15 percent increase, compared to that of last year.
